Dear Esteemed Member,
Following the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and our commitment to contributing to its successful control in Nigeria, we have developed clear strategic guidelines for service accessibility.
Since WHO declared it a pandemic, the disease is fast-spreading, cases are fast-rising and more people are testing positive. In addition, our tropical climate and geographic prevalence, which predisposes us to present with symptoms like that of coronavirus, make it rather overwhelming for healthcare professionals to filter the common respiratory illnesses from COVID-19.
These strategies are important because:
- Many private hospitals are not well equipped to handle pandemics of this magnitude
- Several suspected cases visiting hospitals randomly may be asymptomatic and undetected due to limited capacity. These groups of people pose a high risk of exposure to COVID-19 in other patients visiting the same hospital.
- There is a current nationwide directive to limit movement and maintain social distancing. This directive would minimize the spread, protect the masses, and enable people to recover in isolation without infecting others.
In view of the above-stated discussions with NCDC, we have come up with the following steps to primarily protect our enrolees and ensure prompt and adequate access to healthcare.
- Every enrollee is advised to visit only government hospitals for care when necessary. Find a list of government hospitals that we partner with in Lagos. Please refer to the updated Provider list for other locations.
- General Hospital Gbagada – 1 Hospital Road, Gbagada
- General Hospital Badagry – Hospital Road, Badagry
- Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta – Railway Compound, Ebute Metta.
- Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Yaba – Hussey Road, Yaba.
- Naval Medical Centre, VI – Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island.
- Should you choose to visit a private hospital, we advise that you pre-book appointments using your Novo Health Companion App or via our call centre on 01-4601990 to direct you to an accessible Provider.
- We also advise that every individual manifesting any of the symptoms (fever, cough, fatigue, diarrhoea, rhinorrhoea – constant production of watery mucus from the nasal cavity, sore throat, headaches, sneezing, production of sputum, difficulty in breathing and shortness of breath) should call the NCDC hotlines. If you experience any challenges, please contact us via the following:
- Call Centre – 014601990
- Experience Centre – 014601990
- Novo Companion App – This can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
- Enrollee portal – enrollee.novohealthafrica.org
- Contact your Human Resources department who can reach us through the client portal
- In line with public health advisory, we will be available to assist you remotely with the essential services required at this time
We implore you to fully cooperate with the module stated above as together we can contain COVID-19.
